Turkmenistan Pardons 2,064 Prisoners on Occasion of 30th Independence Anniversary
The prisoners were pardoned on occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Monday signed a Decree on pardoning 2,058 Turkmen prisoners and 6 prisoners of foreign citizenship on occasion of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence.

Addressing the Vice-Premier, Secretary of the State Security Council Chary Amanov, the Turkmen Leader instructed to carry out necessary work together with the heads of law enforcement agencies to release the pardoned convicts and to reunite them with their families in the very near future, the country’s official media reports.

The Head of State also instructed the governors and mayors of velayats, etraps and cities, and other state officials to implement measures to provide pardoned citizens with employment opportunities.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the pardoned citizens to diligently contribute to the large-scale works in Turkmenistan, conscientiously serve the country and live with honest labor.
