Two New Healthcare Facilities Open in Western Turkmenistan
The new medical clinic in Balkan velayat’s Magtymguly etrap has 50 inpatient and 30 outpatient beds.

Solemn ceremonies marked the commissioning of two new healthcare facilities – the infectious disease hospital and medical clinic – in Turkmenistan’s western velayat of Balkan on Wednesday.

The events were attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet Serdar Berdimuhamedov, overseeing the Balkan velayat, parliamentarians, heads and representatives of local administrations, sectoral ministries and departments, public organizations, the local honorary elders and youth, the country’s official media reports.

The new infectious diseases hospital in the coastal city of Turkmenbashi was built and equipped in accordance with international standards. It includes twelve specialized departments and is provided with modern medical equipment from the world's leading manufacturers.

The state media said the modern equipment allows the hospital staff to provide high quality medical services to the population. During the ceremony, the clinic received new service vehicles.

The clinic, which is a complex of two-storey buildings, is equipped with the latest specialized equipment and instruments from the world's leading manufacturers. This allows for the provision of various types of qualified medical care services, according to the report.

The opening of new healthcare facilities was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.
