The seventh meeting of the Sub-Committee on Energy Cooperation of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Chinese Cooperation Committee took place online on Friday. The agenda of the meeting included discussions on the issues of Turkmen natural gas exports to China.
The Turkmen side at the talks was led by Batyr Amanov, Chairman of the Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern, while the Chinese side was represented by Zhang Jianhua, Director of the China's National Energy Administration. The meeting was also attended by representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the two countries, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in its press release on the meeting.
The parties discussed the implementation of agreements in the oil and gas industry, reached during the telephone conversation between the Heads of State of Turkmenistan and China in May this year. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of decisions of previous meetings.
The officials also considered issues of comprehensive cooperation to increase the volume of trade, develop gas fields, increase production and expand cooperation in financing.
The parties also exchanged views on topical areas of cooperation in the energy sector, including renewable energy sources.
