Turkmenistan’s Trade With Uzbekistan Surges 24% in Jan-Oct
Uzbekistan imported over $404 million worth of Turkmen products during the first ten months of this year.

Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with Turkmenistan from January to October of 2021 reached $555.7 million, a 24% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the report of State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan published last Friday.

During the same period last year, the trade turnover between the neighboring countries was over $422 million, according to the report. Turkmenistan is listed among the top ten trading partners of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan imported over $404 million worth of Turkmen products during the first ten months of this year. At the same time, the country’s exports to Turkmenistan amounted to $151.5 million.

Uzbekistan's total foreign trade turnover during the period exceeded $32.6 billion, an increase of more than $2.5 billion or 8.5% compared to the same period in 2020.

Uzbekistan's largest foreign trade partner during the period was China – over $6 billion, with exports exceeding $2 billion, and imports – exceeding $4 billion.

Other main partners of Uzbekistan by trade turnover during the period are Russia (nearly $5.9 billion), Kazakhstan (over $3.16 billion), Turkey (over $2.71 billion), Korea (over $1.52 billion), Kyrgyzstan ($773.8 million), Germany ($625.2 million), Ukraine ($536.6 million) and Afghanistan ($524.2 million).

In 2020, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan amounted to $527 million.
