Turkmenistan Lowers Retirement Age For Mothers With Eight Children
The retirement age of mothers with many children has been reduced by 2 years, and the required period of work – by 5 years.

The amendments to the Code of Turkmenistan on Social Protection of the Population will enter into force from January 1, 2022, the country's official media reported on Wednesday.

According to the amendments, women aged 52 who have given birth and raised eight or more children under the age of eight with participation in compulsory pension insurance for at least 10 years will be eligible for pension benefits.

The current legislation provides for the right to a pension of women over 54 years old who have given birth to five or more children, raised them up to the age of eight and who have participated in the compulsory pension insurance system for at least 15 years.

Thus, the retirement age of mothers with many children has been reduced by 2 years, and the required period of work – by 5 years.

The amendments to the Law also affected cash payments. Now the size of the state allowance for the birth of the fifth child will be 600% of the base value established for calculating the state benefits, for the sixth child – 800%, for the seventh child – 1000%, for the birth of the eighth child and subsequent children – 1200%.
