Turkmen Businesses Ink Export-Import Contracts For Over $35.5 Million
The ECO business forum gathered over 170 delegates, including 40 foreign and 138 domestic representatives.

The business forum of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held in Ashgabat on Friday in the conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. During the forum, the member businesses of the Union of Industrials and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) signed export-import contracts worth more than $35,5 million with representatives of companies of the ECO member states.

The forum was held on the sidelines of the 15th ECO summit, the UIET reported on its website.

The business forum gathered over 170 delegates, including 40 foreign and 138 domestic representatives. Around 300 foreign participants joined the forum virtually.

During the business meeting, railroad institutions of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Iran signed Memorandum of Understanding on use of railway corridor Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran for cargo transportation.

The structures of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan and representatives of companies of the ECO member states also inked bilateral documents for a total amount of over $11 million.

Representatives of business circles signed 17 documents, and as a result of exchange trades – 25 documents.

Particularly, Turkmen companies signed contracts on export of confectionery products (Miweli Ülke, Datly Şerbet, Altyn Ýunus and others) to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Among import contracts were agreements on supplying equipment for furniture production in Turkmenistan from Turkey, grain supply from Kazakhstan, and etc.
