President of Israel Isaac Herzog in his new year’s message to Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited him to visit Israel. The congratulations message was published on the official Turkmen press on Friday.

“On behalf of the people and Government of the State of Israel, please accept my sincerest wishes to you and the people of Turkmenistan for peace, health and prosperity in the year 2022,” President Isaac Herzog said in his new year’s message.

Stating that Israel regards Turkmenistan as its ally, Herzog said he sincerely hopes that the countries will continue to build and strengthen relations.

“I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to Israel on an official visit to discuss opportunities for deepening and expanding the partnership between our countries,” Herzog stated, adding that he believes this visit will give a strong impetus to mutual cooperation in many areas.

“I sincerely hope that Israeli diplomats will arrive in Ashgabat in 2022 and Israeli Ambassador-designate, Mrs. Beth-Iden Kait, will present his credentials to you. We intend to continue building our permanent office in Ashgabat. All this serves to confirm the intention in the development of ties between our countries,” President Herzog noted in his message.

Turkmenistan and Israel established diplomatic ties in October 1993.
