Charymyrat Purchekov, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government for the industrial and construction complex, during the online cabinet meeting on Friday briefed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the activities to establish the production of import-substituting products in the country, in particular composite construction fittings.
According to Vice-Premier’s report, the ministries of the complex are working to create new joint ventures specializing in the production of import-substituting products in the country.
Purchekov said the Senagattehnologiýalary Open Joint Stock Company, created jointly with the Algap Individual Enterprise, the member business of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET), produced a trial batch of composite fittings from glass crumbs, which are in demand in construction. In the future, Senagattehnologiýalary aims to expand the production of composite fittings of various sizes, replacing its steel version. The company also carries out works for the production of composite fittings from basalt raw materials.
The country also expects to produce glass fiber from quartz sand, which will be then used in the composite construction fittings production, replacing 15,000 tons of steel fittings per year, according to the Vice-Premier.
Following the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected samples of composite construction fittings made from local raw materials and emphasized that the production of this high-strength, environmentally friendly and weatherproof products in the country would minimize the volumes of imported steel fittings and help create new jobs.
Welcoming with satisfaction the information about the trial release of the new products, the Head of State instructed to test the strength of the composite fittings together with the relevant departments and, if the high quality is confirmed, to accelerate its wide-scale production.
To this end, President Berdimuhamedov instructed the relevant officials to coordinate this work in the fuel and energy complex and construction industry, providing its scientific justification.
