Private Sector in Turkmenistan's Lebap Boosts Output of Food Products
Last year, the velayat’s private businesses shipped more than 8.14 million eggs to retail outlets.

Private sector in Turkmenistan’s eastern velayat of Lebap are increasing food production, the country’s official media reported on Wednesday.

The businesses in the velayat produced 409.78 tons of confectionery in 2021, which is 121.5 tons more than the year before. They also managed to produce and send to retail outlets 281.5 tons of sausage products last year, which is 155 tons more than 2020 indicator.

The velayat’s businesses also increased their soft drink output in 2021, producing 728.59 decaliters of drinks, a 71.01-decaliter increase compared to 2020.

The velayat also pays special attention to the further development of its poultry farming. Last year, the velayat’s private businesses shipped more than 8.14 million eggs to retail outlets, which is over 2.9 million more than the indicator of a year before.

In 2021, the velayat’s private livestock breeders produced more than 323 tons of red meat, an increase of 164 tons compared to 2020. The milk output of the velayat’s private farms exceeded 1.8 thousand tons last year, an increase of 255-tons compared to 2020.
