President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Thursday left on a working visit to China’s capital Beijing to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, at the invitation of President Xi Jinping of of China, the country’s official media reports.
On the eve of the visit, the Turkmen President held the online cabinet meeting. The Head of State noted that Sapardurdy Toyliyev, the Deputy Chairman of the Government on science, education, healthcare and sports issues and Chairman of the Emergency Commission to Combat the Spread of Diseases, is also part of the delegation heading to China.
The Turkmen Leader then asked the Toyliyev to give his suggestions on how to act upon his return from China.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet Toyliyev said that in accordance with the regulations of the Extraordinary Commission, it is necessary to undergo a mandatory quarantine upon return from the trip, adding that the shortest quarantine period is 3 days, the average time is 10 days and the longest period is 21 days.
Following the suggestion, the Head of State said members of the delegation will also have to undergo quarantine.
"According to sanitary requirements, we will have to stay in quarantine for three days – Sunday, Monday and Tuesday," President Berdimuhamedov said.
In connection with Toyliyev's departure to China, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov assigned the Nurmuhammet Amannepesov, Deputy Chairman of the Emergency Commission to Combat the Spread of Diseases, Minister of Healthcare and Medical Industry, to temporarily perform the duties of Chairman of the Commission.
