Turkmenistan’s GDP surged 6.2% in January this year, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Deputy Chairman of Government in charge of economic and financial issues, announced in his briefing to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Thursday.
The Vice-Premier also reported on the growth in industry (7.4%), construction (0.3%), transport and communications (4%), trade (8.8%), agriculture (3.2%) and services (6.1%) sectors.
The volume of total production in Turkmenistan during in January increased by 7.7%.
In January, the retail turnover increased by 9.9%, and the foreign trade turnover increased by 6.3%.
According to the preliminary results for January, the revenue part of the State budget was executed at 102%, and the expenditure part – 83.2%.
Following the briefing, President Berdimuhamedov said it is necessary to keep under control the fulfillment of planned targets by sectors and activities defined in the reform programs, and addressed a number of specific instructions to the Vice-Premier.
