Lebap Businesses Export 1,277 Tons of Bitumen Mastic in January
In the first month of 2022, the velayat’s businesses sold 1,277 tons of bitumen mastic in an export-customs procedure.

Private sector in Turkmenistan’s eastern velayat of Lebap exported 1,277 tons of bitumen mastic in January this year, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan reported on Tuesday.

The Turkmen Customs said the export or import of goods and products on a legal basis, favorably contribute to the harmonious development of Turkmen economy with the world, increasing the export potential of Turkmenistan, as well as more active participation of producers in foreign markets.

Last year, the surplus from the domestic market of vegetables and intermediate crops grown in the cultivated areas and greenhouses in Lebap velayat, as well as the harvest of beans were exported to foreign countries.

In the first month of 2022, the velayat’s businesses sold 488 tons of tomatoes, 850 tons of millet fodder, 1,277 tons of bitumen mastic and 42 tons of regenerated cotton fiber in an export-customs procedure, the Turkmen Customs Service added.

The state agency added that the performance of the region's state-owned enterprises in exporting cotton yarn, licorice root, and various products made from it is also increasing.

Turkmenistan’s Lebap velayat borders Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. Last year, the farmers in the velayat collected over 13.6 thousand tons of tomatoes, more than 22.5 thousand tons of onions, over 4.5 thousand tons of cabbages and 42 thousand tons of gourds.
