The total amount of transactions concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan over the past week exceeded $44 million.
For foreign currency, the businesses from Switzerland, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and other several countries purchased aviation kerosene, liquefied gas hydrotreated diesel fuel, polypropylene, fuel oil and base oil produced at Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries, while the companies from the UAE and Afghanistan purchased liquefied gas produced at the enterprise of Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Corporation, the official media of Turkmenistan reported on Monday.
Additionally, the companies from Russia and Turkey purchased cotton yarn for foreign currency.
For the domestic market, local businesses purchased high-density polyethylene (HDPE) of Türkmenhimiýa, polypropylene, base oil, petroleum bitumen and crude paraffin produced at the Turkmenbashi refinery and hand-made carpets for around 117 million manats.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan registered a total of 137 transactions last week.
