Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government in charge of the agro-industrial complex Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev during the online cabinet meeting on Thursday presented to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposals on allocation of 10,545.22 hectares of land for construction and production purposes.
The land plots are planned to be allocated for permanent and temporary use to ministries, sectoral departments, provincial administrations and their subordinate institutions and enterprises in order to successfully fulfill the tasks outlined in government programs, the official Turkmen media reports.
Following the briefing, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of agriculture for dynamic growth of the national economy and the importance of systematic improvement and expansion of measures to support agriculture, implementation of projects on intensive development of crop and livestock production.
In general, all this is intended to strengthen food security and export potential of the country, the systematic replacement of imported food products with domestic products, according to the Head of State.
At the same time, the Turkmen President stressed that it is necessary to actively carry out agrarian reforms, introduce effective forms of management, and comprehensively support entrepreneurial initiatives. Having instructed to continue comprehensive work in this direction, the Head of State approved the submitted proposals and addressed relevant instructions to the Vice-Premier.
The Government meeting also considered other important state issues and made appropriate decisions to address them.
