Turkmenistan to Hold Exhibition Marking 14th Anniversary of UIET
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said the non-state sector plays an important role in modernizing and diversifying the national economy.

More than 200 members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) will present their achievements at exhibition dedicated to the 14th anniversary of the major Turkmen business union, which will take place on April 12-13 in Ashgabat.

The program of planned events dedicated to the 14th anniversary of the UIET was presented by Chary Gylyjov, Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government, overseeing the country’s trade and textile complex, to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Thursday.

Gylyjov also informed about the conference that will be held timed to this date. It will discuss the new challenges facing the domestic entrepreneurs, in particular related to the introduction of innovative technologies, digital system, implementation of measures for the development of the private sector identified in the National Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052.

Following the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said the non-state sector plays an important role in modernizing and diversifying the national economy, increasing the volume and expanding the range of high quality, competitive products, ensuring food abundance and increasing export capacity of the country.

The Head of State stated the upcoming exhibition should be not only a demonstration of successes but also a comprehensive event that would help promote products and services of Turkmen private companies in the world markets, identify the most pressing areas of increasing innovation processes in the domestic business.

During the meeting. President Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the more opportunities entrepreneurs get to expand their activities, the higher are the rates of economic development of the country and its transition to market relations. He then approved the presented program of the events and addressed specific instructions the Vice-Premier Gylyjov in order to successfully organize the forthcoming exhibition and the conference.

Established in 2008, the UIET is a public organization, which aims to support small and medium-sized businesses in Turkmenistan, to promote the development of the private sector of the national economy and the formation of a modern enterprise infrastructure.
