The Russian President Vladimir Putin invited his Turkmen counterpart Serdar Berdimuhamedov to visit Russia during a telephone conversation on Friday. The Head of Turkmenistan accepted the invitation, the official Kremlin website reports.
The sides exchanged congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of the development of relations in trade-economic, energy, cultural-humanitarian fields, the official Turkmen media said in its report on the phone talk.
Presidents Vladimir Putin and Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid special attention to the topic of economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia, successful development of which was clearly demonstrated by the steady growth of bilateral trade in recent years.
Emphasizing the importance of the upcoming visit to Ashgabat of the Russian Government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Overchuk, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the forthcoming exchange of views would serve to identify new areas of partnership and give an additional impetus to strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation.
