Uzbekistan’s Q1 Trade With Turkmenistan Nears $187 Million
In January-March of this year, Uzbekistan imported $154.8 million worth of Turkmen products.

Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with Turkmenistan in the first three months of 2022 amounted to $186.8 million, a decrease of 17.1% compared to the same period of last year, according to the report published by the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan on Wednesday.

In January-March of this year, Uzbekistan imported $154.8 million worth of Turkmen products. At the same period, the country’s exports to Turkmenistan amounted to $32 million. Turkmenistan is listed among the top ten trading partners of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan's total foreign trade turnover in the first quarter of 2022 exceeded $13.15 billion, which, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by $5.63 billion, or 74.8%.

Over the first three months of this year, the largest volume of Uzbekistan's foreign trade was carried out with China – nearly $2.2 billion, with imports exceeding $1.66 billion, and exports – $525.7 million.

Other main partners of Uzbekistan by trade turnover during the period are Russia (more than $1.86 billion), Kazakhstan ($993.8 million), Turkey ($776.4 million), Korea ($630.8 million), Germany ($384.4 million), Kyrgyzstan ($226.4 million), Afghanistan ($174.1 million) and India ($166 million).

In 2021, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan amounted to $881.9 million, which is 61% more compared to 2020.
