The newly appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Askar Tazhibayev presented his credentials to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Wednesday.
Expressing satisfaction with the bilateral ties, The Turkmen President and the Kazakh envoy stated their readiness to intensify the traditional cooperation and implement new joint projects, the official Turkmen media reports.
The Head of State and the diplomat exchanged views on the prospects of interstate cooperation. They also focused on the implementation of the agreements reached during last year's state visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Ashgabat and the meeting between the countries’ Presidents at the Third Consultative Forum of Heads of State of Central Asia.
The sides emphasized that Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are important strategic partners.
The proximity of approaches and positions on topical issues of international politics directly contribute to intensifying the Turkmen-Kazakh relations, the parties highlighted.
Diplomatic relations between the countries were established in 1992.
