President of Russia Vladimir Putin on Wednesday signed a decree awarding the Order of Friendship to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Russian Ria Novosti news website reported with reference to the document published on the official Internet portal of legal information of the Russian Federation.
The decoration was awarded to President Berdimuhamedov for “great contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan," the officially published decree said.
The Order of Friendship is awarded to Russian citizens and foreign nationals for outstanding accomplishments in strengthening peace, friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between peoples.
The Order was established by the decree of the Russian President on March 2, 1994.
