Overview of the Most Valuable Global Brands
Apple has retained the title of the world’s most valuable brand following a 35% increase to $355.1 billion.

Technology companies are the owners of the most valuable brands in the world. According to the report by the consultancy Brand Finance, which reviews the world's biggest brands annually, 8 out of 10 most valuable brands are in technology sector. The owners of these companies also are among the richest people in the world.

The COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath has only increased the importance of technology and tech brands, which resulted in more investments in the sector. This trend can be observed in many international reports. They also highlight an increase in the wealth of people who have invested in technology.

Apple, with the market capitalization of over $3 trillion, has retained the title of the world’s most valuable brand following a 35% increase to $355.1 billion. It is followed by Amazon (brand value of over $350 billion) and Google (brand value of over $263 billion).

5. Walmart (U.S.) – $ 112 billion

6. Samsung (South Korea) – $107.3 billion

7. Facebook (U.S.) – $101.2 billion

8. ICBC (Industrial and Commercial Bank of China) – $75.1 billion

9. Huawei (China) – $71.2 billion

10. Verizon (U.S.) – $69.6 billion

The tech sector is the most valuable in the Brand Finance Global 500 ranking, with its cumulative brand value comprising 14.79% of the ranking. Retail (14.39%) comes second, followed by banking (11.60%), media (10.23%), telecommunications (7.20%), machinery (6.81%), insurance (4.27%), engineering (4.02%) and oil and gas (3.90%).

Six IT entrepreneurs are listed among the top 10 richest people in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Heading the ranking is Elon Musk, who is currently in talks to buy Twitter. Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Larry Page, Sergey Brin and Steve Ballmer are also in the top ten richest people.
