Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, on Saturday accessed the progress of construction works of the new administrative center of Ahal province.
Deryageldi Orazov, the Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of the new city and Shamukhammet Durdyliyev, the Mayor of the new city, briefed on the situation at the construction site, compliance with the deadline for delivery of facilities and their equipment, the country's official media reports.
At the site, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov additionally inspected the master plan of the underpasses and the drawings of their location.
The Head of the State Committee assured that he would make every effort to successfully address the tasks set to ensure the high quality of construction and its completion on time.
The decision to install the sculpture of the Akhalteke horse Akhan in the new center was made earlier. The Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty noted the relevance of naming the avenue, at which the sculpture will be located, after this famous racehorse, who had become the pride of the Turkmen people, according to the report.
The construction of the new administrative center of Ahal province began in April 2019.
The new provincial center will include 2-, 5-, 7- and 9-storey residential buildings, which will house 12,324 families, kindergartens, schools and other specialized educational institutions, healthcare, cultural, commercial and service institutions, sports facilities, administrative buildings, as well as transport, communications and engineering systems.
