The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET) registered 19 deals on the purchase of mainly petroleum and textile products during Tuesday and Wednesday trades.
On Tuesday, the Emirati company made deal for the procurement of 10,000 tons of ECO-5 hydrotreated diesel fuel for $11.2 million ($1,129.25 per ton). The Kyrgyz business purchased Turkmen dyed terry products for $65.2 thousand, the SCRMET said in its press release.
An Afghan company bought 50 thousand kilograms of asafoetida, a dried juice extracted from a plant called ferula, at auction for $125,000. These goods are manufactured by the enterprise of the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.
For the domestic market, local businesses on Tuesday purchased different types of cotton yarn for 11.1 million manats.
During the Wednesday trades, the businesses from the UAE, Turkey and Afghanistan purchased a total of 30 thousand tons of ECO-93 gasoline. The total amount of transactions was $29.3 million ($979.5 per ton).
The Emirati company purchased 5 thousand tons of total petroleum coke for $3.3 million ($677 per ton). The business from Turkey signed a deal for the supply of 1.5 thousand tons of calcined petroleum coke for $1.2 million ($828 per ton). During the trades, 10,000 tons of hydrotreated diesel fuel worth $11.5 million ($1,159.50 per ton) was purchased by a company from the UAE.
For the domestic market, local businesses procured on Wednesday 27.5 thousand tons of cotton linters for 38.5 million manats and 11 thousand tons of short-staple cotton for 57.3 million manats. Domestic buyer also purchased different types of handmade carpets for 70.4 million manats.
Last week, the total amount of transactions concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan exceeded $90.922 million.
