President of Russia Vladimir Putin in a meeting with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in Moscow on Friday accepted his invitation to visit Turkmenistan.
At the conclusion of the part of the talks open to the media, the Head of Turkmenistan emphasized that Ashgabat pays great attention to cooperation with Moscow, TASS news agency reports.
"I would like to use this occasion to invite you to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan at any convenient moment," President Berdimuhamedov added and thanked Putin for his warm welcome and hospitality.
"Thank you, I will certainly use this opportunity," Putin said in response to his counterpart’s offer.
This visit to Russia is President Berdimuhamedov’s first official trip abroad since he took office on March 15. During the visit, the Presidents of Russia and Turkmenistan signed a Declaration on Deepening Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
