Turkmenistan Boosts Tomato Exports by 50%
Since the beginning of this year, Turkmenistan has increased its tomato exports by around 50% compared to the same period last year.

Turkmenistan has exported more than 78 thousand tons of tomatoes since the beginning of 2022, an increase of around 50% compared to the same period last year, the State Customs Service announced on Saturday.

The Customs Service added that Turkmen companies also exported a large volumes of vegetables, fruits, melons, beans and dried fruits and vegetable products to neighboring countries during the period.

Since the beginning of this year, the export of footwear made in Turkmenistan has tripled compared to last year, according to the report. In 2022, the largest growth in non-food exports in quantitative terms was registered in detergents, furniture, unprocessed hides and dressed leather.

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan is currently working to simplify and standardize customs procedures by creating a "Single Window for Export and Import Operations" system. This system envisages the digitalization of paperwork for export, import and transit procedures.
