Turkmenistan Expresses Readiness to Increase Its Energy Supplies
Turkmen President stated that the countries of the region already have experience in implementing a major energy project – the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during his speech at the Central Asian Summit in the city of Cholpon-Ata in Kyrgyzstan on Thursday expressed his country’s readiness to increase its energy supplies and expand their transit.

“Together with our partners, we are ready to consider opportunities to significantly increase energy supplies and expand their transit configuration,” Berdimuhamedov told the Fourth Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States, the Turkmen official media reports.

Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Ashgabat looks forward to continue and expand cooperation in the energy sphere. At the same time, he stated that the countries of the region already have experience in implementing a major energy project – the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline.

In addition to Turkmen President, the summit talks were attended by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. They adopted a joint statement following the summit.
