The total amount of transactions concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan over the past week exceeded $41.4 million.
For foreign currency, the businesses from the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Afghanistan purchased gasoline, diesel fuel, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and straight-run gasoline produced by the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries, the official Turkmen media reported on Monday.
In addition, the Afghan businesses procured LNG of Türkmenhimiýa (Turkmen Chemicals) State Concern and granulated technical sulfur of Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern. The Kazakh companies also purchased technical sulfur.
The Emirati and Kyrgyz businesses procured cotton yarn for foreign currency, while the companies from Turkey bought cotton yarn for more than 2.36 million manats.
For the domestic market, local businesses purchased high density polyethylene of Türkmenhimiýa, handmade carpets and cotton fiber for a total amount of 80.27 million manats.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan registered a total of 73 transactions last week.
