High-level Turkmen and Tajik delegations on Wednesday via video link discussed the increase of bilateral trade turnover between the countries and the organization of the 11th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.
The delegations were led by co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission - Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Serdarov and Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Juma Daler.
In his speech, Juma Daler stated that in 2021, the countries increased trade cooperation and that this growth continues this year, the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan said in its press release.
During the talks, the sides stated the importance of improving conditions to facilitate export-import operations, increase bilateral trade in products and services, and expand investment ties.
The parties also considered potential areas of cooperation in chemicals, fuel-energy, transport-communications and manufacturing spheres.
At the end of the talks, the proposal was made to hold the 11th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation in the fourth quarter of this year in Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat.
The 10th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission was held in the capital of Tajikistan Dushanbe on July 28 last year.
