Turkmenistan to Host Transport Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries
The upcoming forum is one of the key stages in the preparations for the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, scheduled for 2024.

Turkmenistan’s coastal city of Turkmenbashi in Balkan province will host an international conference of ministers of transport of landlocked developing countries.

The international conference is organized on the initiative of Turkmenistan under the auspices of the United Nations (UN), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said in its Monday press release.

Participation in the forum was confirmed by delegations from more than 30 states, heads of more than 30 international and specialized organizations, including the UN, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the World Customs Organization, the International Road Transport Union, the International Telecommunications Union, the TRACECA, a number of banks and financial institutions.

The upcoming forum in the city of Turkmenbashi is one of the key stages in the preparations for the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, scheduled for 2024.

The UN General Assembly adopted resolutions initiated by Turkmenistan on sustainable transport and the development of international cooperation in this area in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2021.
