Turkmen AI-92 Gasoline Exports to Azerbaijan Exceed 36.5 Thousand Tons
In the first half of 2022, Azerbaijan imported more than 150.8 thousand tons of AI-92 gasoline.

Turkmenistan exported 36,571 tons of AI-92 gasoline to Azerbaijan in January-June 2022, the Interfax-Azerbaijan news agency reported on Tuesday with reference to the Azerbaijani Government.

Turkmen AI-92 gasoline exports to Azerbaijan during the period amounted to more than $41.73 million. Turkmenistan thus became the second largest supplier of the fuel to the neighboring country after Russia.

In the first half of 2022, Azerbaijan imported more than 150.8 thousand tons of AI-92 gasoline, which is 30.2 times more than the same period last year, the government of the country told Interfax-Azerbaijan.

In value terms, the volume of AI-92 gasoline imports amounted to more than $173.4 million, a 72.6-fold growth compared to the same period last year.

At that, 72.4% of the total import of AI-92 gasoline, or 109,184.1 tons worth over $125.64 million, came from Russia.

The rest was delivered from Kazakhstan (3,526.29 tons worth nearly $4 million) and Romania (1,525.41 tons worth over $2 million).

AI-92 gasoline is produced in Azerbaijan at Baku refinery named after Heydar Aliyev, which was kept on repair for 50 days since April 4, 2022.

By a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, the customs duties for the import of gasoline AI-95 and AI-92 were reduced from 15% to zero from February 1, 2022, to June 1, 2022.
