Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover with Turkmenistan in the first six months of this year amounted to more than $59.88 million, a nearly 3-fold increase compared to the same period of last year, according to the report published by the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic last Thursday.
The trade turnover between the countries in the first half of last year amounted to over $15.2 million.
During the January-June period of this year, Kyrgyzstan imported $57.3 million worth of Turkmen products, an increase of 330.7% compared to the same period of last year. At the same period, the country’s exports to Turkmenistan amounted to $2.55 million, an increase of 30% compared to the same period of last year.
The main Turkmen exports to Kyrgyzstan during the six-month period are oil products, electricity, and vegetables, according to the report.
The total foreign trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan during the first half of 2022 exceeded $5 billion, which, compared to the same period in 2021, is an increase of more than 25%.
