Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, on Saturday inspected operations in the Avaza National Tourist Zone on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.
Dovlet Jumayev, the Mayor or Turkmenbashi's Avaza district, briefed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about measures aimed at optimizing conditions for tourists.
The Halk Maslakhaty Chairman said it is necessary to expand the range and improve the quality of services offered to Turkmen citizens and guests of Avaza, and gave the Mayor relevant recommendations in this regard.
He also stressed the expediency of holding contests between recreation centers and hotels, as well as encouraging the winners of the contests.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that river and sea trips should be organized for tourists in the Avaza. He noted that there are all opportunities to hold boat rides on the Caspian Sea, and on the 7-kilometer Avaza River. In case of necessity it is necessary to buy boats and motorboats, the Halk Maslakhaty Chairman said and advised Mayor to study this issue.
The Avaza NTZ is a resort in the east of Caspian Sea, located twelve kilometers from the city of Turkmenbashi. The first facility of the tourist zone opened in June 2009.
