The VII congress of Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan was held at Mekan palace in the capital Ashgabat on Thursday on the occasion of 31st anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.
The youth forum was attended by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and representatives from Ashgabat and other provinces, the country’s official media reports.
"Today, the young generation formed during the years of independence makes up the bulk of the population of the country, which we look up to as creators of the future of the Fatherland," President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said during the forum.
In accordance with the National Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052 the housing and social welfare of young citizens will be improved and the work to promote their business initiatives will be carried out, according to the report.
Then, according to the agenda, participants of the congress elected new staff of the Central Board of the organization and its leaders. Yazpolat Keriyev was elected Chairman of the Central Council, and Dovletgeldi Durdymuhammedov was elected Deputy Chairman.
The congress analyzed the work done in the past period, defined the priority objectives for the organization and considered a number of organizational issues.
