A new industrial zone may be created near the currently operating industrial zone in the Ak Bugday district of Turkmenistan's Ahal province.
Batyr Atdayev, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government overseeing the country’s trade and textile complex, briefed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the proposal to create the new industrial zone during the online cabinet meeting on Friday.
The industrial zone will house import-substituting and export-oriented production facilities, the country’s official media reports.
Atdayev said the commissioning of new enterprises in the industrial zone will create more than 10 thousand new jobs.
Following the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated that the state measures to support small and medium businesses are aimed at ensuring high rates of economic growth and social progress by enhancing business activities in the country and instructed the Vice-Premier to continue working in this direction.
The cabinet meeting discussed priority issues of state affairs and considered drafts of a number of documents.
