Turkmen President Expresses Condolences to China Over Sichuan Earthquake
A 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit the southern Chinese province of Sichuan on Monday, killing 65 people and injuring about 250.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent his condolences to President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping over the earthquake in Sichuan province, which resulted in human casualties, injuries and destruction.

On behalf of the people and Government of the country, as well as himself, the Turkmen President conveyed words of sympathy and support at this difficult moment to all relatives and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, the official Turkmen media reports.

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit the southern Chinese province of Sichuan on Monday, killing 65 people and injuring about 250.

According to Chinese media, the quake, the strongest since 2017, was so powerful that it was felt even in neighboring provinces hundreds of kilometers away. The quake caused 243 homes to collapse and more than 13,000 to be damaged.
