Turkmenistan Sets New Fees, Charges For International Cargo Trucks
The total amount of fees for trailers arriving in the country will be $150, and for those in transit - $100.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Thursday signed a Resolution on the establishment of fees and charges levied on owners of cargo truck trailers and semi-trailers of foreign countries arriving in Turkmenistan and transiting through its territory for the period from November 15, 2022 to November 15, 2023, the country’s official media reports.

During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the necessity of increasing the capacity of new and reconstructed highways, using the potential of export of foreign and domestic goods to international markets, as well as analyzing the potential of transit of foreign vehicles in Turkmenistan.

The new fees and charges are set for cargo truck trailers and semi-trailers of foreign countries arriving in Turkmenistan from the member-countries of the Ashgabat Agreement (Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) and the Lapis Lazuli Corridor project, connecting Afghanistan to Turkey and Europe via Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The total amount of fees for trailers arriving in the country will be $150, and for those in transit - $100. This amount includes fees for documentary procedures and customs operations, tracking, quarantine inspection of crop products and disinfection, according to the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers.

The new fees and charges are intended to increase the competitiveness of Turkmen transport sphere in international cargo transportation.
