Uzbekistan to Import 4 Billion kWh of Turkmen Electricity
Asadov stated that during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan, the countries agreed to cooperate in the energy sector.

Uzbekistan will buy 4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity from Turkmenistan, UzDaily news outlet reported on Monday, with reference to the Press Secretary of the President of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.

Asadov stated that during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan, the countries agreed to cooperate in the energy sector.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev carried out official visit to Turkmenistan on October 20-21. At the conclusion of the high-level talks in Ashgabat, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a Declaration on Deepening Strategic Partnership. A number of documents have also been signed at the level of governments, ministries and agencies of the two countries to enhance multifaceted Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation.

In 2023, Turkmenistan will also export 2 billion kWh of electricity to Kyrgyzstan in transit through Uzbekistan.
