The 27th Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan International Conference (OGT-2022) kicked off on Wednesday at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat.
The conference is organized by Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas), Türkmennebit (Turkmen Oil) and Türkmenhimiýa (Turkmen Chemicals) state concerns, Türkmengeologiýa (Turkmen Geology) State Corporation in partnership with Turkmen Forum and UK-based GaffneyCline.
At the beginning of the forum, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Shahym Abdrahmanov read out a welcome address by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the participants.
In his message, President Berdimuhamedov said, "Turkmenistan, with its significant hydrocarbon resources, is thoughtfully and purposefully stepping up international cooperation in the fuel-energy sector, noting that the priorities of the energy strategy of Turkmenistan include expanding and diversifying supply routes, creating an extensive network of pipelines.”
The international forum, which is also held online, gathered 500 delegates from 45 countries – representatives of government agencies, international organizations, diplomatic missions, national and international major companies operating in energy sphere, including SOCAR, CNPC, Gaffney Cline, Schlumberger, Dragon Oil, Mitro International, Areti International Group, Buried Hill, Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation, ENI Turkmenistan Limited, Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited, Haldor Topsoe, Çalık. Enerji, Mitsubishi Corporation, Siemens Energy LLC, and Sumitomo Corporation Europe Ltd.
The oil and gas conference began with a plenary session themed "The Future of Energy: New Challenges and Opportunities”. The forum will also feature sessions dedicated to renewable energy sources, hydrogen technologies and environmental issues in hydrocarbon production.
The three-day forum will focus on such topics as the future of the energy sector, Turkmenistan's oil and gas, and chemical sector prospects, investment opportunities in the country's energy sector, new gas and chemical projects and projects in the Caspian Sea sector.
On Wednesday morning, the international exhibition of the same title also opened at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
