Turkmenistan’s Foreign Trade Increases 39.1 Percent in Past Ten Months
The retail trade turnover in January-October period of this year saw a year-on-year increase of 10.5 percent.

The foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan in the first ten months of 2022 saw a year-on-year increase of 39.1 percent, the Deputy Chairman of Turkmen Government in charge of economic and financial issues Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, announced in his report during the online cabinet meeting hosted by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday.

In his report on macroeconomic indicators for January-October period of this year, Geldimyradov informed that the volume of production compared to the same period last year increased by 10.9 percent.

The retail trade turnover saw a year-on-year increase of 10.5 percent, according to the Turkmen official media reports.

The volume of investments in Turkmenistan from all sources of funding in the first nine months of this year grew by 5.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

Geldimyradov also reported on the main articles of the draft financial plan for 2023 and said that a significant part of the funds would be allocated for the development of the social sphere.

Addressing the cabinet meeting participants, the Head of Turkmenistan stated with satisfaction that the country’s GDP grew by 6.2 percent during the period, noting that the results of the ten months of this year clearly demonstrate the progressive successful development of the country in accordance with the programs envisaged.

The government meeting summed the results of activities of sectors of the national economic complex over the past ten months of 2022, discussed the priorities of socio-economic development of the country and considered a number of draft documents.
