Implementation of Several Transport Infrastructure Projects Underway in Turkmenistan
The construction of a railway bridge at the crossing of the Serhetabat-Turgundi railway is also underway.

The construction of a hangar complex at Ashgabat International Airport and a new international airport in Jebel town of Balkan province are underway, Mammethan Chakiyev, the General Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers, said in his report during the online cabinet meeting hosted by President Serdar Berdymuhamedov on Friday.

In his report on the results of work over the past ten months of this year, Chakiyev also informed of the ongoing construction of auto-training grounds equipped with electronic equipment, an office building of the transport and communication complex in the new administrative center of Ahal province, residential buildings for the employees of this sphere in the city of Turkmenbashi, and a railway bridge at the crossing of the Serhetabat-Turgundi railway, the country's official media reports.

Chakiyev also said that with the aim of developing cooperation in logistics field, the working groups on transport-transit and logistics issues have been created together with a number of foreign countries, and working meetings were held within their frameworks.

Commenting on the report, the Head of Turkmenistan highlighted the issues of intensification of cargo transportation and development of logistics, improving the quality of services in the field of passenger and freight transportation by all modes of transport, stressing that the improvement of the transport sector would continue to be among the priorities of state policy.

The government meeting summed the results of activities of sectors of the national economic complex over the past ten months of 2022, discussed the priorities of socio-economic development of the country and considered a number of draft documents.
