President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the participants of the Turkmen-Uzbek Friendship Festival held in Turkmenistan’s northern province of Dashoguz, the official Turkmen media reported on Tuesday.
"The paths of friendship and good neighborliness of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples have been linked from ancient times to the present day. The similarity of cultures and languages of the fraternal peoples of the two neighboring countries, traditions and rituals bring them even closer,” President Berdimuhamedov said, adding that “the systematic development of all-round partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan is important in consolidating the friendly relations of our peoples."
The Head of Turkmenistan said the construction of Tashkent Park in Ashgabat and Ashgabat Park in the Uzbek capital, expansion of dialogue between the capitals of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan as twin cities, and the recent foundation laying of Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone – Trade Center in Dashoguz province are impressive constructive steps for the interests of two brotherly peoples.
In his congratulatory letter, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude to his Turkmen counterpart and all organizers of the friendship festival for holding it at a high level in the unique city of Dashoguz.
"Undoubtedly, the historical and cultural ties of the Uzbek and Turkmen peoples serve as a solid foundation of centuries-old ties of friendship and brotherhood. This important forum aimed at further strengthening of truly kinship and good neighborly relations once again vividly demonstrates the organicity and commonality of noble goals and aspirations of our peoples," Mirziyoyev said in his congratulatory letter.
