President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Monday, within the framework of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, met with Vice President, Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the official Turkmen media reports.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on prospects for further strengthening of interstate relations. The Head of Turkmenistan emphasized the vast potential for mutually beneficial trade-economic cooperation between the countries.
Taking the opportunity, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to pay an official visit to Ashgabat. This invitation was gratefully accepted, according to the report.
The UAE Prime Minister spoke in favor of an active increase in mutually beneficial trade-economic cooperation and promotion of close business ties.
After discussing the status and ways to enhance the bilateral partnership, the sides expressed a common desire to take the traditional cooperation to a qualitatively new level, meeting the enormous potential. The sides also focused on the planned opening of a specialized store selling Turkmen carpets in Dubai.
The Turkmen President stated that another important tool for development of trade and economic relations between the two countries is building ties between businessmen.
The fuel-energy potential of the countries and their favorable location at the global trade, transport and communication crossroads create opportunities for further expansion of cooperation, the Head of Turkmenistan added.
The Dubai Ruler presented the Head of Turkmenistan with a book about his life and activities.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum expressed confidence that the traditional bilateral cooperation will continue to strengthen and successfully develop on the mutually beneficial long-term basis.
On Monday, the Head of Turkmenistan also held talks with the President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister for Presidential Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
