Turkmenistan will study the development and introduction of a special visa regime in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in accordance with international standards.
This initiative was proposed by Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov during a working meeting hosted by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of the country’s bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, in Avaza on Thursday, according to the country’s official media.
The development and launch of a special visa regime is expected to increase the economic and financial potential of Avaza, and modernize migration and customs procedures.
Rashid Meredov also emphasized the importance of holding of appropriate consultations with international organizations and foreign partners to exchange experiences in order to improve and systematically build the capacity of ecological, natural and medical tourism in 2023.
The Halk Maslakhaty Chairman said that in order to massively attract tourists to the Avaza NTZ, attention should be paid to creating a modern infrastructure, including transport and logistics system.
The working meeting discussed the further development of the Avaza NTZ and effective realization of the transport and transit potential of Balkan province.
