Turkmenistan Renovates Medical Facility in Afghanistan’s Faryab
The medical facility, built by the Government of Turkmenistan as a humanitarian aid, was commissioned in August 2009.

The Government of Turkmenistan renovated the polyclinic in the Garamgol district in Afghanistan’s northern province of Faryab, and delivered medical equipment and medicines to the Afghan side as humanitarian aid. An official ceremony was held at the medical facility on this occasion on Saturday.

The event was organized by the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Mazar-i-Sharif, the official Turkmen media reported on Monday.

The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Afghan Foreign Ministry's office in Balkh province, the governors of Garamgol, Gorgan, Andhoi and Hancharbag districts of Faryab province, heads of health facilities, residents and elders.

The participants of the event expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan on behalf of the Afghan people, noting the tremendous assistance that the Turkmen Government has continuously provided to the people of Afghanistan over the years.

Sadaqah was then given during the opening ceremony. The event also featured the handing over to Mahmud Khan Abdullah, head of the Garamgol District Education Department, of Turkmen textbooks for Grades 1-4 to be used as a teaching aid at Turkmen language classes in schools in the district.

The medical facility, built by the Government of Turkmenistan as a humanitarian aid, was commissioned in August 2009.
