Turkmen President Expresses Condolences Over Death of Former Chinese Leader
Jiang Zemin, former Chinese President and former General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, died Wednesday in Shanghai at the age of 96.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has extended condolences to President of China Xi Jinping and the entire Chinese people over the death of former Chinese President, a prominent statesman and political figure Jiang Zemin, the official Turkmen media reported on Thursday.

"He went down in the history of the Chinese people as a determined leader who achieved great successes in social and economic development and raised the country's prestige in the international arena," Berdimuhamedov said in the message.

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed words of condolence and support to the family and friends of the former Chinese Leader.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, also sent a message of condolences to Xi Jinping over the passing of Jiang Zemin.

Jiang Zemin, former Chinese President and former General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, died Wednesday in Shanghai at the age of 96.
