Turkmen Exports Jump 50% in Jan-Nov 2022
In the first 11 months of 2022, the volume of production compared to the same period last year increased by 11 percent.

As a result of the measures taken to increase export-oriented products in Turkmenistan, the volume of exports in January-November of this year has increased by around 50 percent compared to last year, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced during the expanded cabinet meeting held online on Friday.

The meeting was attended by vice-premiers, governors of the provinces and the city of Ashgabat, as well as the officials of the Turkmen bicameral parliament.

The Head of State added that Turkmenistan should continue to work to increase exports through the production of import-substituting products and production of new types of them, the country’s official media reports.

In his report, the Deputy Chairman of Government in charge of economic and financial issues Hojamyrat Geldimyradov informed that the GDP of Turkmenistan in the first 11 months of 2022 increased by 6.2 percent and the volume of production compared to the same period last year increased by 11 percent.

In January-November 2022, the retail trade turnover saw a year-on-year increase of 10.6 percent, while the foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan surged 35.7 percent year-on-year.

The volume of investments in Turkmenistan from all sources of funding in the first 11 months of this year grew by 14.1 percent compared to the same period last year.

Summing up the results of the expanded cabinet meeting and addressing its participants, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated with satisfaction that the national economy has maintained high growth despite the difficult situation in the global economy and inadequate work in some industries.

The government meeting discussed the priorities of socio-economic development of the country and a number of other issues.
