President of Turkmen Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Ashgabat on Monday.
At the beginning of the meeting, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud thanked the Head of Turkmenistan for the opportunity to meet him in person and conveyed cordial greetings from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, the official Turkmen media reports.
The Turkmen President thanked for the kind words and conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Saudi King. The Head of State also congratulated the Foreign Minister on the opening of a new building complex of the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Ashgabat.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of interstate relations that are successfully developing both bilaterally and multilaterally, particularly within the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The parties also reaffirmed the commitment of the two countries to expanding multilateral cooperation and stated the positive dynamics of trade-economic partnership, the presence of a solid export-import potential for the gradual expansion of mutually beneficial business contacts. The cooperation in fuel-energy complex, trade, investment, transport-communications, the chemical-textile industries, and agriculture were named among the promising areas for interaction.
The meeting also paid special attention to the importance of intensifying bilateral relations in the fields of science and culture.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Turkmen President and the Saudi Foreign Minister expressed confidence that the interstate relations, which are consolidated by the bonds of friendship and mutual goodwill, would continue to develop for the benefit of the countries’ peoples.
On the same day, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud also met with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
