President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang on Friday, the official Turkmen media reports.
The meeting took place within the framework of Turkmen President’s two-day state visit to China.
The sides exchanged views on the prospects of Turkmen-Chinese cooperation on the development of mutually beneficial relations.
The Turkmen President emphasized that he considers his first state visit to China as an important event that will give a new impetus to strengthening friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries, based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and good neighborliness.
The Chinese Premier stressed that the visit of the Turkmen President to China will be an important step in strengthening the friendship between the two country’s peoples.
During the meeting, it was noted that Chinese companies are very interested in the Turkmen market. In addition, the introduction of advanced technologies was singled out as a promising area for cooperation between the countries.
In the course of the talks, the sides noted the importance of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation and proposed to prepare and hold the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission.
The parties stressed that the bilateral ties are organically complemented by the effective partnership within the UN and other international and regional organizations, including within the Central Asia - China format.
At the end of the meeting President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Premier Li Keqiang expressed confidence in the further development of the interstate relations.
