Turkmen Foreign Minister Meets With Uzbek President in Tashkent
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev considered issues of further deepening Uzbek-Turkmen relations of strategic partnership.

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent on Tuesday, according to the Press Service of the President of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was held within the framework of the visit of Turkmen Foreign Minister to Tashkent to attend the meeting of the ECO Council of Foreign Ministers.

The sides considered issues of further deepening Uzbek-Turkmen relations of strategic partnership, enhancing cooperation in economy, trade, industrial cooperation, energy, transport and logistics, activation of interregional contacts and cultural-humanitarian exchange.

The two sides continued with an exchange of views on topical issues of regional and international agenda. They also considered the schedule of forthcoming meetings.

The first quarter of this year will feature a number of joint events – regular meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission, the joint Commission on water issues, inter-ministerial political consultations, cultural and other events.

The 26th meeting of the ECO Council of Foreign Ministers chaired by Uzbekistan was held on January 24 in Tashkent.
