Turkmen, Tajik Presidents Hold Phone Talk

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday held a telephone conversation with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon, the official Turkmen media reports.

Expressing gratitude for the sent congratulations and good wishes on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in turn, on behalf of the people and the Government of Turkmenistan cordially congratulated his Tajik colleague and on his own behalf the people of Tajikistan on this momentous event in the history of bilateral relations.

President Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan's commitment and readiness to steadily expand the multifaceted partnership with Tajikistan, giving it new impetus and quality, and expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the two countries would further develop and strengthen the interstate relations for the benefit of the Turkmen and Tajik peoples.

Interstate trade and economic relations are also rapidly developing, largely supported by the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Tajik Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, according to the official media.

The Turkmen President took the opportunity to thank the Head of Tajikistan for his great personal contribution to the development of bilateral relations.

The President of Tajikistan additionally conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and National Leader of the Turkmen people.

At the end of their telephone conversation, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Emomali Rahmon wished each other good health, family happiness and success in responsible state activity, and that the fraternal nations of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan would enjoy peace, further progress and prosperity.
