Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, National Leader of Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Tuesday. The sides discussed prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in major directions, the official Turkmen media of reports.
The Halk Maslakhaty Chairman and Uzbek President congratulated each other on the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, expressing their best wishes to the peoples of the two countries.
The conversation noted the active work of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation, which coordinates efforts on the entire range of issues of bilateral partnership.
According to the media report, the delivery of liquefied gas to Uzbekistan free of charge in accordance with the Resolution of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the delivery of Uzbek-made ambulances to Turkmenistan are a vivid evidence of the mutual will to strengthen the good neighborly relations of friendship and brotherhood.
At the end of the telephone conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished each other strong health, inexhaustible energy and great successes in responsible state activity, and that the peoples of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan thrive and prosper.
On occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, celebrations were held on February 3 in the Tashkent Park of Culture and Recreation in Ashgabat and on February 6 at the International Hotel Tashkent.
